Savanna Chantler

I was born in 1998 in Durban. I am a grade 11 student at Westville Girls’ High School. I am actively involved in school activities such as Toastmasters and hold positions of leadership. I am passionate about netball and enjoy being outdoors.

Dancing has been a part of my life since the age of three and I have tried various styles such as ballet, modern, hiphop and contemporary. I have now decided to focus on the ballet. I have been dancing with Amy Rotheroe Dance Studios for the last fourteen years and with various other teachers. I am in Advanced 1 ballet and hope to enter for my Advanced 1 exam next year. I am also a dancer in the KZN Dance Academy. Despite other extra-mural activities, ballet has remained a constant part of my life.

I have participated in various shows such as The Wiz, a Westville Girls’ High production and Westville Boys’ High production of You Can’t Stop The Beat.

I will be studying law after school and want to continue to dance as much as possible. I would like to work towards teaching qualifications. I love to dance and I believe sharing your passion with others is a highly important factor of creating a society of mutual respect for one another’s passions.
